A hot day and being so close
to Australia Day may have affected our attendance resulting in only five
starters plus Max. Start Point was Maitland Park. Promptly at 9.00am,
Steven & Robin Lilly in their red V12 E Type pulled away followed at
two minute intervals by Eddie & Ailsa Wright, MK2. Andrew &
Nicole Haigh, Mk2. Neil & "Maz" Smith, Mk2. Brian Vitnell
& Allan, X300 V12 & finally Max, XJS 4 litre.
The quite scenic route took
the intrepid starters through Kurri, Weston, Cessnock, Pokolbin
Vineyards, Rothbury & to Branxton Park for morning tea. Thence via
Stanhope, Maitland Vale, Rosebrook, Bolwarra and to our lunch stop in
the excellent new dining room at the Hunter River Hotel in East
Maitland. Whilst awaiting the sumptuous lunch Nicole & Max tallied
the individual sheets to come up with the results. Of course Nicole
& Andrews sheet was triple checked by Max to make sure all was fair
and square.

1st Place. Andrew

& Allan.
3rd Place. Steven
& Robin Lilly
4th Place Eddie
& Ailsa Wright
5th Place Neil
& Maz Smith, in their very first outing.
Difference between 1st
& 5th were 5 only, making it a very close result.
Congratulations to all who
braved the conditions to participate. All in all it turned out a great
day through scenic country with the pleasure of a good meal &
excellent company.
